Slumberance

Like a vivid dream can keep one in sleep

Begging for time in Hypnos’ keep,

I drifted o’er soft purple mountains’ crests

Skimming the ocean with flitting feet

When I lost control and fell to the ground

There, a white door in a field, I found

Opened, ajar, with yet another behind

Withered, forbidden and forcibly bound

I pushed through the barriers

With all my might

‘Fell into a pool of deepest mind

Beckoned through a tunnel,

I tore through it at its side

Revealing static, fuchsia limbo

Buzzing around inside

Like soft pink petals and grey linen in dance

This world’s gaping belly swallowed me in a trance

Until I forced my eyes open and knew beginning as end

This strange land would keep me if given the chance
